Yarn evenness irregularity and imperfection-Yarn irregularity:
The opposite of yarn evenness is irregularity. The evenness of yarn is judged by measuring the yarn irregularity. It can also be said that the greater the irregularity of the yarn, the lower its evenness, and the lower the irregularity, the greater its evenness. That is to say, the different qualities of the yarn such as unit length, the difference in weight, the difference in strength, the difference in twist per inch, etc. are the irregularity of the yarn. Yarn evenness irregularity and imperfection-Types of yarn irregularity:
When the difference in a test object occurs at a certain time interval, i.e. periodic, this irregularity can be divided into three parts by taking the length of the fiber as a unit. E.g.
1. Short term variation:
When the wavelength is 1 to 10 times wider than the fiber length.
2. Medium term variation:
When the wavelength is 10 to 100 times wider than the fiber length.
3. Long term variation:
When the wavelength is 100 to 1000 times or more than the length of the fiber.
The word imperfection means immaturity. Any yarn has a standard. This norm is usually based on certain features such as Naps, Thick Places, Thin Places, Hairiness, etc. If any of these qualities of yarn or any one of them deviates from the norm, it is called imperfection. Imperfection measurements, on the other hand, determine the yarn’s irregularity.
