(A) Plate singeing machine: In a plate singeing machine, a pair of heated copper plates can be used to singeing the cloth.
(B) Rotary cylinder singeing machine: In a rotary cylinder singeing machine the fabric is singeing with the help of a heated rotating cylinder made of copper or cast iron.
(C) Gas singeing machine: In a gas singeing machine, by making loops in the fabric with the help of multiple gas burners, both sides of the fabric can be singeing simultaneously.
Different Processes of Singeing:
1. Plate Singeing:
In this type of singeing method, the fabric is passed over a pair of heated copper plates. Below is a furnace or other conventional heating system to heat the copper plate. The cloth is passed over a copper plate along the width so that the projecting fiber, hairy fiber, etc. sticks to the cloth and burns. Here is only one side of the cloth singeing. The speed of such a machine is 140 yards to 225 yards per minute. This singeing is not in use at present.
2. Cylinder singeing:
This is a version of a lot of plate singeing. In this method, the cloth is passed over a heated copper or cast iron cylinder. As a result, the projecting fibers, hair fibers, etc. in the cloth are burnt in the vicinity of the rotating heated cylinder. Here both surfaces of the fabric can be singing at the same time.
3. Gas singeing:
Gas singeing is one of the most convenient methods of singeing. This method can be used to remove waste by projecting fiber, hairy fiber, etc. on both the surfaces of the fabric at the same time with the help of a gas burner. Here the gas burner can be controlled based on the spread and thickness of the fabric. With the help of this machine, 150 yards to 400 yards of cloth can be singing per minute. The use of this method is maximum.
