Screen printing method:

Introduction:

The screen printing method is a modernization of the stencil printing method. To draw a circular or long line in the stencil method, a connection bridge is required. But it can be done very easily in screen printing. In this method, to make the screen, the thin fabric made of a special type of silk, cotton, organdy, nylon, or polyester fiber is tightly attached to the wood or metal frame, and other parts except the design are sealed with water-resistant chemicals. The printing paste is then poured on the screen and applied to the cloth by a rubber squeezer. https://bdfabric.com/styles-of-printing-in-textile/

This screen printing method is a less costly, simpler, and more clean method. Large and varied designs can be printed in this method. Its production capacity is much higher. For these reasons, this printing method is more popular than roller printing. This printing method is very useful for multiple color designs. Also, the subtlety of the design can be ensured. Screen printing is used to print curtains, table cloths, children’s clothes, and sarees, etc.

Types of screen printing:

There are generally three types of screen printing. E.g.

(A) Hand screen printing

(B) Flatbed screen printing

(C) Rotary screen printing

(A) Hand screen printing:

Printing tables are usually placed vertically in tall-shaped sheds. The fabric that will be printed is stuck to the table by a paraffin mace while it is being pulled on the printing table. The screen is then placed on the cloth and a printing paste is applied to it. Squeeze the printing paste 2-3 times back and forth through the screen and apply it to the fabric according to the design. As a result, the design painted on the screen of the cloth flourishes. The fabric is then dried using a heating system placed under the table.

(B) Flatebed printing:

A flatbed screen printing method is much better than hand screen printing. It is not always possible to apply the color pastes on the hand screen to the fabric of the hand screen by squeezing and pulling evenly on the fabric. Such difficulties are not seen in flatbed screen printing. Because in this method the cloth stays on the bed with the conveyor belt in a tight state and with the help of the belt the cloth goes from the bottom of the screen of one color to the bottom of the screen of another color and completes the design and dries for the next action.

(C) Rotary printing:

Rotary screen printing is a continuous process. Here the screen is a kind of edgeless metal screen that is hollow and perforated. This machine can print clothes in up to 18 colors. This machine can be used to print fabrics of different fleets, each screen can be operated separately and the printing paste can be pumped and fed to different screens. In this method, the level of printing paste can be controlled automatically.
