Recipe:
The following recipe can be used for jute fiber scouring.
Sodium carbonate – 5 to 10 g / liter (3 to 5 ° toadel).
Wetting Agent – 0.5 to 1% (by weight of the processed product)
Water Softening Agent – 0.25% (by weight of the processed product)
Temperature – 60° to 110° C
Time – 2 to 3 hours
First, the required amount of water is taken in a container. The container is then gently stirred by adding sodium carbonate water softening agent, wetting agent, etc. Then put the jute in the pot. The temperature is increased from 80°to 110°C by inserting. At that temperature, the product is boiled for 2 to 3 hours and the waste is removed. However, before scouring, the jute should be boiled in 1% oxalic acid solution. After scouring, the product is washed first with hot water and then with cold water. Then the action should be done with acetic acid or hydrochloric acid. Then it should be washed in water. Scouring Jute is dark brown in color and soft in nature.
Scouring of synthetic fiber:
Synthetic fiber waste is oil or oil stains and other dust or dirt. Through spinning, weaving, and knitting, synthetic fibers get such oil or grease stains on yarn or cloth. Which can be overcome through the process of scouring. The action of a mild detergent is sufficient for the scouring of such fibers and this mild detergent can clean the fiber completely.
Scouring of jute fiber and synthetic fiber. For regenerated cellulose rayon, the product is boiled in a solution of 1 to 1.5% non-ionic or anionic detergent in 1000% water and 1% sodium carbon for 20 to 30 minutes at boiling temperature.
For cellulose acetate rayon, boiling is done in 1000% water with 1 to 5% detergent and 1 to 5% ammonia solution at 60 ° C for 20 to 30 minutes.
For nylon 66Scouring, 1000% solution contains 1.5 to 2% detergent and 1 to 5% sodium. Boiling the carbonate solution at 60 ° C for 1 hour removes the waste from the nylon and completes the scouring process.
