The following recipe is used for the discontinuous process (kier boiler) for cotton fiber scouring:
Alkali (NaOH) → 2 to 5% (percentage of the weight of processed fabric).
Soda Ash (NaCO3) → 2 to 3% (percentage of processed fabric weight).
Wetting Agent → 1% (Percentage by weight of processed fabric)
Water → 20 times (weight of cloth).
Temperature → 100 ° C. 125 ° C to 130 ° C (pressure boiling)
Time → 8 hours (off-kier). 8 to 12 hours (Open kier)
Pressure → Atmospheric Pressure (Open kier)

The following recipe is used in Continuous Process (J-Box) for cotton fiber scouring:

Wool fiber scouring (by soap):
Soap → 1.5 to 2% (percentage of processed fiber by weight).
Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) → 0.2% (percentage of the weight of processed fiber).
Temperature → 43 ° C to 52° C
Time → 10 minutes.
Wool fiber scouring (by detergent):
Detergent → 0.6% (percentage of the weight of processed fiber).
Sodium carbonate → 0.5% (percentage of the weight of processed fiber).
Common salt → 1% (percentage of the weight of processed fiber).
pH → 9 to 10.5
Temperature → 40 ° C to 54 ° C.
Silk scouring recipe:
Soap → 0.50 to 0.75% (percentage of the weight of processed silk).

Temperature → 95 ° C
Time → 30 minutes to 2 hours
pH → 10
Jute Fiber Scouring recipe:
Sodium carbonate (NaCO3) → 5 to 10 gram / liter
