Classification of re-arranged twill:

Re-arranged twills are mainly of two types.

(A) Satin and sateen.

(b) Corkscrew weave

(a) Satin and sateen:

Among the main weaves, satin is the third main weave. Satin is sometimes a distinct weave i.e. it is a distinct weave like plain and twill. However, since its properties are similar to twill weave, it is a rearranged twill. The main feature of this weave is that there is only one loop between the warp and weft yarns in each repeat, and this loop, the yarn, is covered by the neighboring long floating yarn.

(b) Corkscrew weave:

Some re-arranged twills are similar to broken twills. This twill can be formed in different ways. It is possible to rearrange the warp or weft yarns of the original continuous twill to form a newly rearranged twill. A re-arranged twill can be made by rearranging the yarns 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the continuous twill in the order 1, 3, 5, 2, 4. A re-arranged twill can also be formed by rearranging the warp or warped yarns in groups.
