History of spinning industry in Bangladesh. Cotton has been cultivated in Bangladesh since ancient times, but it has never been used commercially. Because the length of the cotton fiber was very insignificant. The cloth was made by cutting the yarn by hand. The world-famous Dhaka muslin sari was first made from cotton produced in Dhaka Kapasia in the Indian subcontinent during the Mughal period. In the Arts of India, dated 323 BC, muslin is said to be the oldest of the Sullivan veils and manubanghita. This makes it easy to understand that the muslin of Dhaka is very old. At present, cotton seeds are being widely cultivated in Bangladesh by importing some cotton fiber seeds from America and the length of the fiber is quite good. It has also started to be widely used in the spinning industry of Bangladesh.
At present, the use of artificial fiber as well as natural fiber is increasing day by day. But in terms of use, cotton yarn is very healthy.
