Functions of the ring spinning frame:

The main function of the ring frame is to produce yarn. Thus the following functions are performed step by step for production.

1. Creeling

2. Drafting

3. Twisting

4. Winding

5. Building

6. Doffing

1. Creeling:

The part of the ring frame where the rovings obtained from the simplex machine are hung is called the creel part or creel. The number of spindles in a ring spinning frame hangs in the creel frame. Creelings usually have a front and a back zigzag order. The method by which the roving ring is attached to the frame is called creeling. They are in such a position that it is not difficult for a worker to stop the bobbin in the creel.

2. Functions of the ring spinning frame-Drafting:

The ring spinning frame usually has 2 drafting zones. There are 3 pairs of drafting rollers in 2 drafting zones. The lower rollers are pressed against the upper rollers and the upper rollers are usually made of rubber. Less draft is given in the back zone of 2 drafting zones. The rear zone draft is only used for playing the roving twist. This is why the rear zone draft is called brake draft. Gives the original draft in the front zone, i.e. reduces the weight of the single length of the fibers played here and delivers which is later converted into yarn.

3. Functions of the ring spinning frame-Twisting:

Twist means twists, that is, the fibers in a thread twist from right to left or from left to right in a certain way. The process by which the yarn is twisted is called twisting. The fibersdelivered from the pair of rollers in front of the ring frame rotate on their axis to the right of the traveler and slowly rotate. When the machine is turned on, the bobbin starts spinning along with the spindle and the traveler starts spinning around the bobbin on the ring by pulling the yarn off the bobbin. A complete rotation of the Traveler provides a twist on the yarn along the length of the yarn between the Traveler and the front roller nip. The number of twists in the yarn depends more or less on the rotation of the front roller delivery bobbin and the traveler.

4. Winding:

Twisting and winding occur simultaneously in the ring-spinning frame. Travelers do both of these things. The lower rotational speed of the Traveler than the delivery rate of the front roller causes the twist. As well as the rotation speed of the traveler, the twist is created. The ring, the traveler, the spindle, and the bobbin all work together, twisting and winding.

5. Building:

The railing on which the bobbins are placed is the method by which the rollers are raised and lowered in stages. The ring rail slowly rises and descends slowly. This up and down is called a traverse. The bobbin rotates and the rails rise and fall, causing the yarn produced in the bobbin to twist. Thus the bobbin takes on the shape of a tapper.

6. Doffing:

When a bobbin of a certain weight and size is made, the machine is turned off and the yarn bobbin is taken off or picked up. The main task in Doffing is to pick up the full bobbin and put the empty bobbin. The machine is restarted as soon as the empty bobbin is finished.
