Flock printing in textile:
Table of Contents
Introduction:
Flock is a type of special fiber. Flocks can usually be made from many synthetic fibers. Where the fibers are cut to a pre-planned length in a suitable cutting machine, flocks can also be made from wool and cotton fibers so that the length of the flocks is kept at 0.3 mm. The flock can be colored or white. The fabric and flock in which the flock will be printed may be of the same fiber or different fibers. https://bdfabric.com/what-is-the-transfer-printing-process/
Fabrics are first printed by design using a non-removable resin or a suitable adhesive material in a flatbed screen printing method or a rotary screen printing method. However, in this case, thick resin or adhesive material is used. The flock can then be spread on the fabric in any manner that is trapped by the resin in the designed space. However, the resin used should have good flexibility, soft feeling, and water fastness.
Flock printing in textile-Methods of flock application:
Flock can be spread on fabric in the following two ways:
(A) Flock application using compressed air
(B) Flock application by the shaking process

(A) Flock printing in textile-Flock application using compressed air:
In this method, a flock is applied by a special type of flock spray gun. Its application method is very simple. There are different sizes of Flock spray guns, which can be used according to the application. Here the flocks are spread on the cloth by the compressed air through the spray gun. This method is commonly used by handicraftsmen, painters, and decorators. When the flock is applied with a spray gun, it falls on the cloth in a state of scattering, which never gives a clear Velvet effect.
(B) Flock application by the shaking process:
In this method, a flock is simply applied to the cloth by shaking, or scattering, either by hand directly or by fine sieve. Here the cloth is shaken and at the same time, the flock is spread and applied. This will create a purposeless fashion by flocking to the randomly designed space of the fabric. This can usually be done for less fabric.
