Factor affecting marker efficiency are given below:
Factor affecting marker efficiency. There are a variety of problems that can be encountered when making markers correctly, which can lead to reduced marker efficiency. All these problems have to be dealt with very wisely. An efficient marker needs to have a system so that the marker maker can easily see the full length and width of the marker. Marker makers usually first place the patterns inside the marker. Attempts are then made to place relatively small patterns between large patterns to reduce wastage of fabric and increase marker efficiency. Attempts are then made to place the patterns in different directions so that the length of the marker is reduced i.e. the efficiency of the marker is increased. The factors that prevent marker makers from creating efficient markers are discussed below.
(A) Grainline Factor affecting marker efficiency:
Each pattern indicates a grain line. The grainline indicates the direction in which the fabric is pulled. When making markers the grain lines of the patterns must be placed parallel to the pulling direction of the knitted fabric or the waltz of the knitted fabric. Depending on the design of the dress, the pattern is sometimes placed at a 45-degree bias angle. The hanging quality of the garment or Drape and Hang depends on the matching of the grainline and pattern grain line. To increase the efficiency of the marker, the grainline of the pattern along with the grainline can be fixed at an angle of up to 20 degrees. However, care must be taken not to do any special damage to the design of the dress. Keeping an eye on grainline matching and adhering to that rule acts as a barrier to the work of the marker maker.
(B) Characteristics of fabric Factor affecting marker efficiency :
Some fabrics look the same when rotated at an angle of 180 degrees it is called Symmetrical fabric. Some fabrics look different when rotated at an angle of 180 degrees, called asymmetrical fabrics. Such as pile fabric, some special types of printing cloth, etc. Special care is taken when making markers for asymmetrical fabrics otherwise the look of the garment may be flawed. This is why in the case of asymmetrical fabrics when making markers, the patterns cannot be rotated arbitrarily in any direction, which is considered as a barrier to making markers.
(C) Characteristics of fabric design Factor affecting marker efficiency :
It is essential to have a special design of the garment, such as the mirror image, that is, the center front line to the right and left to look the same, in all cases special care is taken when making bedding and markers. So that after making the garment, every garment gets the desired design.
(D) Cutting quality:
In most cases, the patterns are cut apart from the lay of the cloth with the help of a knife blade. The normal width of the knife blade prevents the blade from rotating at a 90-degree angle in the middle of the fabric grade. So care must be taken while making the marker so that there is no difficulty in running the knife to cut the patterns, otherwise, there is a possibility of cutting the defective pattern. As soon as the marker is finished, you need to calculate how many patterns there are in the marker. For example, to make 6 size pants, there are 16 patterns in each size pants, so the marker should have 8X16 = 96 patterns. If for some reason one or more pattern markers are not noticed shortly after making and before cutting the fabric, it will be caught while sewing after cutting the fabric, and when this defect is caught, it is a waste of time to rectify it. So the number of matte patterns in the marker must be calculated as soon as the marker is created.
(E) Production planning:
When a work order is given for the production of a garment, usually the number of the work order garment is expressed as Dozen. In addition, there are dozens of garments of any size and color. In particular, the sizes of the garments are given in proportion. In such cases, the skill of the marker may be more available but it takes a lot of time to make the marker. On the other hand, due to the length of the marker, there is a possibility that the fabric of the cutting table will not fit. In addition, a large number of cloth rollers are required to make a layer of a certain height. Since there may be differences in color shades from one roll to another, the problem of differentiation of shades in clothing also increases. It also reduces the number of fabric plies for each color of the fabric in the fabric spread. As a result, the bundle shape of the pattern is reduced, the number of bundles increases. This results in higher handling costs for more bundles. So problems that can be encountered when making markers correctly, which can lead to reduced marker efficiency
