Causes of yarn irregularity and its effect:

The most common faults of yarn are unevenness of the number or count of the yarn, inequality of twist, low strength or energy inequality, thinness in any part of the yarn, slab, knaps, etc. The reasons why irregularity is seen in the yarn are discussed below:

The effect of yarn irregularity is not understood in many cases before the fabric or other processing by the yarn. However, the effect of this irregularity on the dyeing or finishing process after fabrication by yarn is discussed below:

1. Fabric appearance:

Fabrics made with irregular yarn do not look good, which is also noticeable in the finishing process. This results in a Diamond bar and Weft bar or Block bar defects in the fabric.

2. Strength:

Whether it is sliver, roving, or yarn, the strength of its smooth space is weak due to irregularity.

3. Striped fabric:

If the yarn is irregular, especially if the yarn number or count is irregular, then the defect is caught in the layers of the fabric woven by the yarn.

4. Dyeing and printing faults:

Due to the irregularity of the yarn, its soft and thick areas take on more dye than the soft and thin areas, which creates an uneven shade of color. On the other hand, uneven removal of starch during desizing affects the subsequent process.
